Abstract

Abstract
The purpose of this Paper is to convey the experience Republic of Macedonia has had in the process of developing of the National Assessment Report on Sustainable Development, for the World Summit on Sustainable Development, held in Johannesburg, 2002.

The admission and the way of Assessment Report developing is presented in this material regarding/considering: working bodies that were established, work methodology that was defined, obstacles and problems that were identified in the process of implementation, as well as the most appropriate solutions that were taken.

Also, the Paper contains the national developing strategic documents that incorporate the concept of sustainable development. These documents, developed in the Republic of Macedonia in different sectors, serve as a basis for data collection on the level of sustainability in sectorial politics.

As summary in this Paper, the future steps and activities that have to be undertaken by the Republic of Macedonia are identified, in direction of developing and implementing the National Strategy of Sustainable Development.
