Abstract

Ion transfer across liquid-liquid interface plays pivotal role in many processes in pharmacy, chemistry, medicine, interfacial catalysis, drug design and many more. We elaborate shortly major achievements of the so-called three-phase electrode methodology that is recognized as a simple and efficient tool to get insight into thermodynamics of ion transfer across liquid-liquid interfaces. We provide experimental data about Gibbs transfer energies of many important drugs, ions of polypeptides and other physiologically important compounds.
