Abstract

Congenital diaphragmatic hernia - Bochdaleck is embriologival defect of the diaphragm allowing abdominl contents to enter the torax and is associated with pulmonary hypoplasia, pulmonary hypertension, dextrocardia, malrotation and DAP. The aim is to present a case of male newborn six days old with delayed presentation of congenital diaphragmatic hernia Bochadleck and the outcome of urgent sugical intervention.
Regular ultrasound cheks are especially important for detecting major congenital abnormalities. Prenetal diagnosis improves prognosis and survival. This case has shown that CDH can manifest a few days later after birth which requires regular weekly cheks of the newborn in the first month of life by the family pediatrician and early recogniton of the clinical picture of CDH.
