Abstract

The purpose of management plans in underground mines is to ensure the health and safety at work by creating and incorporating structured plans, procedures and processes for the day-to-day operations of the mine. The application of ventilation management plans in underground mines consist of procedures for auditing,
verification and corrective actions to ensure compliance with regulatory standards or to restore the system to
occupational safety standards when emergency situation occurs.
This paper describes the ability to develop and implement ventilation management plans to ensure compliance with regulations, increase safety and health at work, improve operational efficiency, and restore the mining system to control after an emergency situation.
Two case scenarios have also been presented in the paper. The first case presents a scenario for the application of management plans where the procedures for measuring the performance of the ventilation system are listed along with the procedures and standards for the proper installation of auxiliary ventilator. In the second case, a scenario is presented for the implementation of the management plans for fire control system, along with the procedures for safe evacuation and controlling the fire.
