Abstract
One of the key processes related to the music instrument in the series of instrumentinstrumentalist-music is its manufacturing, which is essential for its survival. As an integral part of this study, we conducted a field research in some cities in the Republic of Bulgaria such as Petrich and Sandanski, as well as in the village of Kavrikirovo, and in R. Macedonia such as Kicevo, Struga and Skopje, with one aim – to discover the types of trees used to make zurlas in the Republic of Macedonia and R. Bulgaria. This article omits the usual issues related to the technology of the preparation of wood as one of the initial processes in the manufacturing, but rather deals with the tree type from which zurlas are made in R. Macedonia and R. Bulgaria.
