Abstract

This paper has a double objective: on one hand, to analyze the linguistic characteristic of the Macedonian version of European Convention on Human Rights and on the other, to analyze the quality of this text as a translation. The first analysis will be fulfilled on three levels: terminology, morpho-syntactic and stylistic, which will lead us to some general conclusions about this type of legal texts.
The second analysis, fulfilled on the same three levels, will point out the positive and negative aspects of the given translation that could contribute to overcoming the flaws, not just in this concrete text, but also of the legal translation into Macedonian in general.
Key words: European Convention on Human Rights, Macedonian language, terminology, morpho-syntactic analysis, textual analysis, translation
