Abstract

In Skopje, Republic of Macedonia, the pre educational institution "Izvorce" successfully exists and has been acting for 15 years. This institution has decided to organize and perform its job according to the model of Maria Montessori. The results of the work done with the children are imposing. It is a pleasure to spend some time in the institution and to talk and work with the children in it. Our stay there and what we have seen has impelled us to study the Montessori model of education closely and to compare it with the traditional model in the Republic of Macedonia which has been practiced in more than 90% of the pre educational institutions. The realizations, with a special review to the educational area in mathematics, have been presented in this work.
