Abstract

Abstract:
Besides stimulating the child’s imaginations, the children’s literature gives an opportunity for enrichment of their vocabulary and the usage of the active methods within the teaching process as well as easier learning of the German language in the earliest growing stage. School’s readings such as Heidi, by Johanna Spiry or the Eternal Story by Michael Ende could on one hand be an excellent foundation for reaching esthetical and educational purposes such as getting acquainted pupils with the work of the German children’s authors, but on the other they inevitably present the explicit link between the fine literature and language itself.

Key words: children’s literature, school’s readings, vocabulary, German authors, German language, active methods
