The great importance of tobacco production, which engages about 10% of the total population of the Republic of Macedonia, offers possibilities for its development as a modern family business, in accordance with the intentions of the European Union and the conditions required by the new economy. these conditions imply good management practice, motivation of the employees and all other persons engaged in the production, keeping up with the intensive changes in business environment, flexibility, enterpreneuring activities and care for healthier. A model form strategic development of tobacco business in Macedonia will be presented in this paper, based on world literature, intentions in the EU and our real possibilities to use the achievements of the new economy in development of this branch.
