Abstract
The Turkish- Macedonian bilingual monograph “Last songs” deals with the bard of the Turk poetry, Nazim Hikmet and his last songs, characterized by intense lyrics. Nazim Hikmet is credited with the introduction of free verse in Turkish poetry, which still has followers. Although there are dissenting voices regarding his poetry, he is regarded as a key figure in Turkish literature. The monograph includes professors and translators from Macedonia and Turkey (Marija Leontik, Neyat Selman, Djemal Aksu) with the aim of determining how Nazim Hikmet is perceived in the two countries.
