Abstract

In this work we present entire MATHCAD data sheet for calculation of numerical voltammograms of diffusional electrochemical reaction coupled with follow up reversible chemical step, i.e. the ECrev mechanism in cyclic voltammetry. This model is quite relevant to study chemistry of many drugs and enzymes, and to get access to kinetics and thermodynamics of many drug-drug interactions. The simulated voltammetric patterns depend on kinetic and thermodynamic of follow up chemical reaction, but also on the kinetic of electrode step. By performing simulations in this model, one can develop methods to get access to the forward and backward rate constants of chemical reaction, as well as to the equilibrium constant of chemical step. We give detailed description of all parameters in the MATHCAD working sheet that is available for free.
