Abstract

We present in this work potential applications of voltammetric techniques to get insight into the kinetics of drug-drug interactions, and to kinetics of enzymatic reactions. The-so called catalytic regenerative mechanism is a powerful model to mimic the drug-drug and enzyme-substrate interactions under voltammetric conditions. Various theoretical models on this electrode mechanism provide means to to get access to kinetic and thermodynamic parameters relevant for many drug-drug and enzyme-substrate interactions. While we present plenty of simulated voltammograms, we give the readers simple approaches to access important physical parameters relevant to the chemical reactivity of lipophilic and hydrophilic drugs and enzymes.
