Abstract

The aim of this paper is to prove and emphasize the importance of marketing activities, i.e. market orientation for the competitiveness of SMEs. The study analyzes the characteristics of SMEs and business orientations, the differences between business orientations and the elements and the implementation of market orientation. The analysis shows that the benefits of applying market orientation are important for business success and that it should be the goal that small and medium-sized enterprises will strive for. The paper illustrates how to introduce a market orientation, which also contributes to its importance for advancing the competitive advantage of SMEs. These findings can be useful for entrepreneurs and SME managers, as they provide a more precise perspective on the various areas of market orientation and its implementation in everyday business activities.
