Abstract

„This report was made possible through the support of
the following financial contributions: This project is cofunded
by the European Union and implemented with
further funds provided by the Austrian Red Cross, the
Institute for Economic Promotion of the Austrian Federal
Economic Chamber and the WWF.“
„This climate vulnerability assessment report is a
publication under the Instrument for Pre-Accession
Assistance (IPA) project “South East European Forum
on Climate Change Adaptation” (SEEFCCA). Within this
regional project, four national civil society organisation
(CSO) networks on climate change adaptation in
Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia have been
established to strengthen civil society and tackle climate
change through awareness-raising and policy dialogue
on national and regional levels.
The recommendations of this report should foster
the definition of climate change related initiatives
and guide the work of national CSO networks on
Climate Change Adaptation (insert the name of your
CSO network). The results of this document are also
integrated in the regional synthesis climate vulnerability
assessment report that brings together the findings of
national climate vulnerability assessments in Croatia,
Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia.
The IPA project “South East European Forum
on Climate Change Adaptation“ 2011-2012 is
implemented by Croatia Red Cross, Macedonian
Red Cross, Montenegro Red Cross, the NGOs
Environmental Improvement Center and WWF in
Serbia and coordinated by the Austrian Red Cross.
Other partners in this project include the Institute for
Economic Promotion of the Austrian Federal Economic
Chamber, the Red Cross/Red Crescent Climate Centre
in The Hague (Netherlands), the World Wide Fund for
Nature (WWF) Danube-Carpathian Programme and the
WWF Romania.“
The “Report on Climate Vulnerability Assessment on the
territory of the Republic of Macedonia” was developed
by PhD. Aleksandar Glavinov, Assistant Professor,
representative from the Republic of Macedonia.
Different regional and national documents from the
public and civil sector were used for the development of
this report. Also, consultation meetings were conducted
with representatives of different government ministries,
civic organizations, university professors and I am very
grateful for their instructions, proposals and ideas that
were incorporated in this report.
