Abstract

Cantilever dental bridges are prosthetic appliances which have abutments and distally positioned pontic. In the cantilevers dental bridges, occlusal forces which transfer vie the distal cantilever cause changes in the dentures and teeth in terms of rotation and bending, depending on the direction of the stress and the amount of the load. Distribution of occlusal load is an important factor for treatment's effectiveness and it prophylactic influence on the remaining teeth. In line with this, the present paper will look at various authors who have researched the area of occlusal stress and its distribution in cantilever dental bridges
