Abstract

Tourism can be considered one of the most important socio-economic phenomenon of the twenty century. Its rapid expansion had negative impact on the environment and sociocultural impact in many areas. Thus, mass tourism is thing of the past for tourist countries wishing to develop their tourism in a good way and ensure sustainability in the future, so alternative forms of tourism are an essential orientation for the further development of tourism. Tourism has gained its popularity as one of the measures to address the negative impacts of tourism on nature and the positive growth of the tourism industry. As part of the economy and alternative forms of tourism, green tourism, an important orientation of the local culture and the natural environment, implies the efficient use of energy and water, improve the system of waste, creating employment opportunities and contribute to sustainable rural development. The main purpose of this research was to explore the city of Peja tourist offer, measure how developed it is and how attractive to visitors it is. It was important to see whether city of Peja has predispositions for further expanditure of tourist offer and how much is being done. There were two target groups, visitors and tourism industry workers, and the research tried to find out how they are satisfied with the offer and choices of tourism products in city of Peja. The paper graded the quality of tourism products, influence of promotional activities and new tourism products in creating a recognizable destination brand. Tourist satisfaction in a destination is an important factor of development, especially when knowing that decisions on improving the destination offer are based on satisfaction or dissastisfaction of guests. The goal was to add a value to the development of Peja´s tourist offer, which is also the purpose of this paper and the research that was made.
