Abstract

The purpose of this study is to propose a reliable and efficient communication and monitoring system in underground mines. In order to achieve this goal, wireless networking systems have been analyzed, from which ZigBee technology is distinguished as the most efficient for installation and maintenance in underground mines. The proposed system in this study has the ability to integrate ZigBee wireless network technology with various sensors and enable communication, monitoring and control in underground mines. Also in this study is presented one scenario for implementation of ZigBee wireless network technology to improve the evacuation system in case of fire in underground mines.
