Abstract

The development and learning of preschool children takes place through several developmental domains including: health and motor development; socio-emotional development; language development ad early literacy; cognitive development and the development of a learning approach. All domains take place in parallel some in certain period less, some more intensively, through which accomplished the holistic development of the child’s personality. Within the cognitive domain includes subdomains Math. The process of development and formation of mathematical concept, the development of thinking skills, a rational approach to problem solving problems, is a development process, a process that implies the establishment of an active interaction between the child and the objects and the phenomena from the immediate environment. This process of interaction is the easiest, most commonly through the game. As a basic, primary activity in which children are freely and indulgent and in which they perform various activities, through which they imitate, dramatize, acquire knowledge,… learn, lead to the holistic development of the individual. Through it takes place the process of development and formation of the initial mathematical concept. In the paper we talk about the game, about her role and importance, especially about the role and importance of the didactic-mathematical games. Examples of logical and mathematical games that can be practiced with children of preschool age are also given.
