Abstract

This paper is based on the quantitative survey conducted between public administration members from the municipalities of the Eastern or so called Bregalnica region. This survey is a part of the wider project “Transparency and participation in the decision making processes in self-government units in the Eastern planning region in Republic of Macedonia”, conducted on Goce Delchev University, Faculty of Law in the period of 2014/2015. From this research we can determine that there is need for improving of the work of the local administration in Republic of Macedonia. Furthermore, we are locating the factors of influence during the decision making process for more efficiency and effectiveness, but also and necessity for their implementation in practice. Keywords: Local self-government, decision making process, public administration, transparency, democracy.
