Abstract

The marbles in Republic of Macedonia are widely spread, especially in the Pelagon metamorphic
complex where two types of marble can be found – dolomite and calcite. The SIVEC type of marble is unique in its
own characteristics which are result of the specific of mineral composition, the structural-texture properties, the
physical-mechanical characteristics, color, chemical composition and esthetical features.
