Abstract

The aim of this paper is to provide an overview of new innovative futuristic materials and technologies which are available, and their ability to structural features which they have, to be implemented according to the characteristics in the field of architectural design.Smart materials can be implemented in architectural elements such as windows, ceilings, smart concrete, bricks, furniture and more. Modern materials are graphene, aluminum foam, termobimetals, sustainable concrete, aerografit, aerogel, elektrohromatic glass, superconducting materials and others. All of these materials could change the image of the reality of the environment, contributing to getting materialized futuristic architecture with the visual dimension.
